Cavalier 96

From 1958 To 1959 the Cavalier Company produced the Cavalier 96 for the Coca-Cola Company. The Model 96 is embossed, with raised lettering that says Drink Coca-Cola. The Cavalier 96s are one of the most sought after and popular Coke Machines due to their comfortable size, ability to vend different flavors, and different size, and shapes of bottles. The Cavalier 96s were produced with two light up lens in the coin door, one says Deposit Correct Change, and another larger round lens that says Have A Coke once the money was deposited.  The Cavalier 96s utilized an electric coin mechanism that electrically trips a solenoid after the correct amount of money is deposited which allows the machine to release one bottle from the vending stack assembly. The Cavalier machines are very popular with commercial locations also as the electric coin mechanisms can be set to vend for larger amounts. (up to 3 dollars per bottle). We always set our machines to vend for 10 cents, but we do have customers who have our machines in their shops, that do vend for a profit.  the Cavalier 96s measure 67" High x 25" Wide x 22" Deep and weigh around 270 lbs. While The Cavalier 96s were delivered from the factory with no additional dress up decals, Coca-Cola did produce the popular dress up decals, and made them available to their Coke Distributors to dress up their machines. The Cavalier 96s all had a bottle door on the left side of the cabinet, and was made with a  vending stack assembly that allowed 12 different selections or flavors of soda. Today many home owners will expand the flavor choices to include long neck beer, wine coolers, bottled water, and fruit drinks as well as soda. This machine will hold 96 bottles. Cavalier used a different style of lettering on the sides than Vendo ! Most amateur restorers don't realize this, or care enough to take the time to do the job correctly. To my knowledge, we are the only ones who powdercoat the entire Cavalier vending stack assembly. Cavalier never used chrome banding to separate the colors, it was always done with fine lined paint only. Many Amateur Restorers put new plastic "chrome" car molding on their Cavalier 72s when they restore. We do professional restorations the correct way.
